Report on tree plantation program under “एक पेड़ माँ के नाम Plant4Mother” campaign celebrated at ICAR-MGIFRI, Motihari

As a part of the Government’s programme of “एक पेड़ माँ के नाम Plant4Mother” a Tree plantation campaign was celebrated at ICAR-Mahatma Gandhi Integrated Farming Research Institute, Motihari, Bihar, on 29th August 2024.
Dr. K.G. Mandal, Director, ICAR-MGIFRI, provided all necessary support and vital technical inputs for conducting the tree plantation program. The “एक पेड़ माँ के नाम Plant4Mother” campaign was organized by Dr. Neela Madhav Patnaik (Scientist, Agricultural Extension) and Mr. Jadhav Amol Kailas (Scientist, Fruit Science) with Dr. S.K. Purbey (Pr. Scientist, Fruit Science) acting as nodal officer of the plantation program. A total of 30 participants were part of the “एक पेड़ माँ के नाम Plant4Mother” campaign; which included scientific, technical and contractual staff of ICAR-MGIFRI in the successful tree plantation program in our campus.
The plantation program included planting of 125 mango saplings (100 nos. Amrapali and 25 nos. Jarda), 170 saplings of Ashoka (Polylthia longifolia var. pendula), 3 saplings of Syzygium mytifoliam, 2 saplings of curry leaf plant (Murraya koenigii) and 1 Bayleaf plant (Cinnamomum tamala). In total the plantation program was successfully carried out with 301 plant saplings planted by different staff of ICAR-MGIFRI, Motihari in the institute premises and farm area.
