Following the guidance of the esteemed Director General-ICAR and Secretary-DARE, Government of India, coordinated by the Director, ICAR-Directorate of Weed Research, Jabalpur, and under the directive of the institute’s director, a Swachha Bharat Abhiyan event was organized on August 29, 2024. As part of this endeavor, a Parthenium eradication program was conducted in a village near the institute’s premises, on 29.08.2024. Approximately 40 persons including Scientists, technical staff, Young Professionals (YPs), and contractual staff were engaged in an awareness programme aimed at eliminating Parthenium from the area near the institute. A total area of approx 500 square meters was successfully cleared of Parthenium infestation. The participants displayed great enthusiasm, and all staff members are now comprehensively aware of the significance of parthenium eradication. Attached below are a few photographs from the event.
